Look at this wonderful scripture in 1 John 4:9,
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
The manifested love of God has manifested life for us. Life does not just mean that we get to go to heaven, although that is the most wonderful manifestation of life. No, life is for here and now. Remember Jesus said in John 10:10,
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Now the enemy wants to try and steal, kill and destroy what Jesus has already done for you. And sometimes it looks as though he may even be succeeding. But I want to encourage you that it is in the midst of the most difficult times that we see the grace of God manifesting with greater power. God shows up when you are in the middle of the fire!
Remember Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed- Nego refused to bow down to a gold idol and were thrown into a fiery furnace heated seven times more than usual. To all intents and purposes they should have died instantly, and yet King Nebuchadnezzar says in Daniel 3:25,
"Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
Even though you may be going through a tough time, Jesus will walk with you in the midst of it! Not only that, He will determine a way out and send a Word to you to deliver you.
The widow that lived in Zarephath had reached the end of the line. Because of the drought that had been declared over Israel she had run out of food. When the Prophet Elijah met her she was gathering some sticks to cook their last meal and was getting ready to die.
However, in 1 Kings 17:13-15,
And Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.'" 15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.
It is vitally important to not allow fear to take hold. No matter how bad the situation seems, if we allow fear in it will stop our faith from working. You DO have faith! According to Romans 10:17,
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
That faith will work if we do not allow fear to interfere. How do we combat fear?
Two things to remember about faith:
Firstly in 2 Corinthians 4:13,
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak.
And secondly James 2:26,
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Just as the widow gave her last meal in sacrifice, the action of sowing seed demonstrates your faith in the provision of God. As you sow your seed this month, declare loud and confidently, “My God is with me! He never leaves me nor forsakes me. I may have been in the fire, but my Lord has delivered me. He is not mocked! As I have sown my seed, I receive my harvest of deliverance. I am free in the Name of Jesus!”
Now… Do NOT fear…have faith in God!
Janine and I love you and are standing with you in prayer every day.
You are blessed!
Jesus is Lord,
