Supernatural Manifestations - Supernatural Victories
It is our Lord's desire for this world to not only know that He is the Living God, but for all to see that He is. There are so many promises in the Word of God that He sent His Word to heal, that He watches over His Word to perform it, that His Word does not return void but accomplishes what He sent it for, that His promises are "Yes" and "Amen", that He would send signs and wonders to confirm His Word, etc., etc.
It is also vitally important to know that He has chosen to reach this world through you and me. Paul tells us in Romans 10:13-14,
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
He further teaches us in Ephesians 4:11-12a,
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry.
We all work together in ministering to this world. In Ephesians 4:15-16 He goes on to say,
but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
When we all do our part it causes the growth of the body of Christ. Now I want to draw your attention to how these two verses are sandwiched between "love"..."speak the truth in love" and "edifying of itself in love".
When Jesus was questioned by religious leaders as to what Is the greatest commandment in the law, He answered in Matthew 22:37-38,
Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment."
But then He added in verse 39,
"And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’"
We see this confirmed by Mark 12:30-31,
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
After someone asked Jesus the same question, Jesus asked him to answer what he thought...his answer in Luke 10:27-28 was,
So he answered and said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
This is our key to life!
Many times I have encountered people who have found it difficult to understand or apply this principle because they have told me that they do not even love themselves, so how are they supposed to love others the way they love themselves? Others love themselves so much that they have become selfish and are not able to love others.
Jesus teaches us in John 13:34,
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Did you pick up the subtle difference? Here Jesus does not say to love others the way we love ourselves...He said to love others the way HE loves us.
How does He love us?
While we were still sinners (Romans 5:8)! Unconditionally! It is because of His love that we are drawn to Him. He saved us. And even when we make mistakes after coming to the Lord, He still forgives us.
This is how we are to love. In fact, Jesus goes on to say in John 13:35,
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
This is how we are going to reach this world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People are fed up with dry hypocritical judgemental religion. We are all thirsty for the truth. Jesus is that truth. And when we demonstrate the love of Jesus, multitudes will running to Him.
As a renewed commitment to Jesus and His work...let's all commit to trusting Him to fill us with His love and to unconditionally show that love to all around us.
Say this out loud, "I have received the love of God in my heart. He loves me unconditionally. He has placed that same love in me. I love others the way He loved and loves me."
We love you! And are dedicated to praying for you every day.
You are blessed!
Jesus is Lord!
