Impact of Spiritual Growth Seminar

I would like to share with you how Spiritual Growth Seminar and learning to pray changed my life.
I gave my life to Jesus almost 5 years ago. I have been attending services at The Bay for a year and a half now. At the beginning of this year we had an armed robbery at our house. Four armed robbers invaded our privacy and put guns to my 8 year old son’s head, to mine and my mothers and stabbed my husband twice. We fought for our lives and by the grace of God we are all alive today. After that we were not doing well. I had to take antidepressants and sleeping tablets to cope. I was struggling physically and emotionally having anxiety attacks most of the day. I asked a lot of people to pray for us.
Shortly after the incident I joined a cell group and received a lot of support from the members. It was spiritual food for me to attend the meetings and talk to the woman in my support group. I started Spiritual Growth Seminar and it was such a blessing at the right time. During Spiritual Growth I again asked for prayer for our situation.
The same night at the Seminar we studied the topic “How to pray for definite results”. I always wondered why God was not answering my prayers and hearing my pleads and I suddenly realised that after five years of being born again I did not know how to pray. Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them”.
I should thank God for answering my prayer and believe that I have received them. I must also realise that my words and actions can and will affect my prayers. Wow, I never knew I was doing it all wrong. I should also speak as if it is already done. I realised that I have not done this in the past.
I came home and repented for not believing, and thanked God for answering my prayers. Now I trust, and I have faith and talk as if it is already done.
I have grown so much since attending regular cell meetings, services and Spiritual Growth Seminar, and by the grace of God it has been three weeks and I am free. I don’t take any of my tablets, I sleep well and I’m totally cured of the terrible anxiety that I had just a few weeks ago.
Learning how to pray has been a life changing experience for me.
